December 13, 2017 – FORT MYERS, FLA. – Both Florida SouthWestern State College Collegiate High Schools (ĢýC-Lee and ĢýC-Charlotte) have been named Schools of Excellence by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE).

The FLDOE recognizes a School of Excellence as a school that has received a grade of A or B in each of the three most recent school years (2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17) and has ranked at the 80th percentile or higher for their school type for at least two of the last three years.

Both ĢýC-Lee and ĢýC-Charlotte received A grades and ranked at 96 percent or above during the three qualifying school years.

“Achievements like these are the natural result of students working hard in rigorous and meaningful coursework that is planned and delivered year after year by a group of exceptional teachers,” said Dr. Brian Botts, principal, ĢýC-Lee.

“This recognition is a product of Florida SouthWestern State College’s commitment to provide multiple accelerated learning pathways to our community,” said Matthew Catanzarite, principal, ĢýC-Charlotte. “The collegiate charter school model allows our students to reach their full potential.”

ĢýC-Charlotte is the only school in Charlotte County to receive the distinction.
